Darkest Horse is the latest single from Sydney’s 5-piece hard rock band, The Grand Union.
Building off the release of their May 2021 debut single, Cathedral of Pain, Darkest Horse is a perfect storm of bluesy hard rock, melodic overtones and power-packed crescendos.
In Darkest Horse, The Grand Union have stayed true to their live-circuit form and captured the essence of their shows – harmonic vocals, riffs and a palpable sonic experience which takes listeners of all persuasions on an epic musical journey.
Lyrically, it’s clear that the song contains relatable everyday themes such as the juxtaposition between good vs evil, one’s success vs their failures and heroes and villains. Musically, the song takes listeners on a journey that matches the lyrical content. The song starts with a melodic atmospheric intro before building through a hooky pre-chorus and crashing into a searing “did you say rock” chorus.
The single will be premiered through HEAVY on October 15, but in the meantime pre-order the single here: https://linktr.ee/The.Grand.Union
