The Duke of Enmore (Sydney) in collaboration with Boner Contention has drummed up Live Band Karaoke to rock your socks off twice a month. The next event is coming up this week on Wednesday 23 August, kicking off at 8pm.
Made up of seasoned residency rockers, The Duke’s new live band karaoke brings to you a classic but newly tuned Sydney favourite night of entertainment, once forged over the better part of a decade in famous live music fire pit, Frankie’s Pizza.
Having managed Frankie’s for 6 years and being a part of the magic of Hard Rock Karaoke, Sabrina Medcalf (Odd Culture Group’s Entertainment Manager) is now bringing a DUKE-A-FIED version to life – hotter than hell and badder than ever.
Sabrina Medcalf, said: “We all thought it would be a massive loss to the community if we left this 8-year-strong karaoke event to die. Seeing as my connection to Frankie’s was so strong, the choice to carry the legacy over to The Duke was a no-brainer, of course, with a few changes and shake ups to call it our own.”
Medalf continued, “There is truly nothing else in Sydney like it, especially mid-week. The Karaoke-heads that show up every week are dedicated to the cause! What is the cause? Be a rock and roll legend for a night with no strings attached (other than a possible hangover).”
Your host and professional band for the night, Boner Contention, made up of some of Sydney’s finest musicians, will be there to perform with anyone keen to take the stage including a singer, drummer, lead guitarist and bassist, along with The Duke’s resident sound engineer, Josh Pershouse, who has mixed some of the best in the business like King Parrot, The Delta Riggs, Johnny Hunter, C.O.F.F.I.N, and Battlesnake. Those wanting to stick to just vocals will have the host band backing them up and have the option to have the lead singer sing along with them. Duos and full bands are also welcome, as well as those who are wanting to bang it out on any of the instruments.
