South Australian metalcore outfit, The Daily Chase return after a couple of years in the making with their latest single, Lotusland, the first from their forthcoming EP, The Colour of Crisis, to be released Friday, April 8.
Lotusland is the first taste of The Colour of Crisis and teases a sound influenced by drum and bass that builds on the metal foundations The Daily Chase have previously laid down.
Narratively, Lotusland portrays a narcissistic character that is psychotically absorbed within his own world, who truly believes he is above everyone. “The character that exists within Lotusland is living in a world where he is the king and everything revolves around him,” Explains the band.
“Meanwhile, he is ignorant to the fact that he is still held down by the restraints of gravity and mortality. He flips between a state of ecstasy, which is the sanctuary within his mind, and the real world outside, which is a much darker place.“
