Necrosonic Festival returns to Mansfield Tavern on Saturday, August 22 2026 and the full lineup has been revealed to the masses! With dual headliners Rivers of Nihil (USA) and our very own Psycroptic, alongside exclusive reunions, one-off performances and long-awaited resurrections ~ this year’s ritual is the most formidable yet.
With a massive deference to Australian talent, this years line-up is: Rivers of Nihil, Psycroptic, Gravemind, Lynchmada (Exclusive ‘One Last Time’), Segression (30 Year Reunion), Minus Life (Resurrected – Exclusive), Pestilential Shadows, Five Star Prison Cell (Resurrected), Wxrldfxcker, Witchskull, Dreamkillers (Special EP Set), Helm (Resurrected – One-Off Show), M.S.B.I. HEAVY has thrown down the challenge and sent a Q & A sheet out to all bands, with any that don’t return one completed having to buy us a beer at Necrosonic. So while we are quietly hoping we get minimal replies, a couple have gotten back to us already and today we feature FUC.

F.U.C. (short for Forests Under Construction) is a chaotic, two-piece Environmental Nu Thrash band hailing from Brisbane, Australia. Formed in 2010 by mates Dan (guitar) and Todd (drums), the duo delivers a surprisingly massive, face-melting sound that punches well above its weight class.
Known for their extreme musical precision mixed with unhinged, tongue-in-cheek humour, their tracks tackle urgent topics like protecting dolphins and not throwing shopping trolleys into the ocean. Live, the band is infamous for their wild shenanigans, fanatical underground following, and an outrageous choice of stage attire—frequently rocking mankinis. They continue to tear up the local metal scene with heavy, satirical releases like their EP Everythink.
HEAVY: NECROSONIC 2026 is almost upon us. How far out from August 22 will you allow yourself to get excited?
FUC: We’re already excited, not just excited, BIG KEV excited! Remember Big Kev? He always said, “I’M EXCITED!” So that’s us.
H: What does it mean to your band to be playing NECROSONIC?
FUC: It means a lot. It means we get to crack dick jokes through song, and yell about poos to turn those frowns upside down!
H: How important are festivals like NECROSONIC for the Australian music scene?
FUC: Super important. Necrosonic has really made a name for itself on the Heavy Metal calendar here in Brissy, giving us a bunch of great acts from all across Australia as well as some internationals. They give up-and-coming bands a go as well, which is so important for that next generation of Aussie bands.
H: It’s a long day of music. What will you be doing to make sure you will still be standing come your set time?
FUC: I will be sitting come our set time so she’ll be swoit!
H: Give me your Top 3 Festival survival tips.
FUC: Shit before you leave the house.

Eat food, drink water, enjoy the music.
H: Which band – other than yourself – do you think will get up to the most mischief on the day?
FUC: We’re perfect little angels, so definitely not us. It will probably be Lynchmada. They’re naughty.
H: What one song would you tell festival goers to listen to of yours if they haven’t heard you play before?
FUC: Pooraka. You can find it on Bandcamp!
H: Will you be taking requests on the day?
FUC: We always take requests, but we never actually alter our set. So request away, and if you’re lucky, we may or may not play your song.
H: Run us through your typical live show and what punters can expect.
FUC: We basically play our songs, get the crowd involved with some fun audience participation activities, call them spoil sports if they don’t participate, throw inflatable items in the crowd to play with and have some nice costumes to visually stimulate the audience.
H: What’s your latest release?
FUC: Everythink. It’s a 6 track EP, and you can stream it, buy it or don’t. Whatever tickles your pickle.
H: Finally, what plans does your band have for the rest of 2026 into 2027?
FUC: Necrosonic! We will probably record and release some new music as well, maybe play some other concerts, see what happens.
