Australia’s undeniable love-affair with comedy rock duo Tenacious D was solidified when their Sydney and Melbourne shows sold out within minutes. Fans needn’t despair, however, as second shows were announced and some (very) limited tickets still remain for their May tour.
The tour features Jack Black and Kyle Gass, the devilish duo that have not only seen success musically, but also in film. Their 2006 film “Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny” starred rock heavy-hitter Dave Grohl (as Satan, no less) and heavy metal legend Ronnie James Dio, a fact that in and of itself makes the film worth watching. The pair’s ability – and willingness – to make themselves the butt of jokes and not take themselves seriously in any way at all has endeared them to Australian audiences and once again we have the opportunity to bask in their adorable absurdity.
This is their first tour since supporting the Foo Fighters back in 2011, and this time they are joined by special guests Damien Power (AUS) and Sasquatch (US).
