Schwarz-weib wie Schnee is the thrash metal EP that every soccer fan must own… yes that is right – every soccer fan. See this isn’t just any stock-standard EP, the EP came about when the German thrashers Tankard were asked to perform the Eintracht Frankfurt anthem ‘Schwarz-weib wie Schnee’ in front of 30,000 supporters and from there the EP was born.
The title track sounds like a pure drinking song while the soccer theme continues on Forza SGE which has soccer chants that completely fits with the theme. Of course ‘Schwarz-weib wie Schnee’ has been around for ten years now, and Tankard also incorporates their original version on the EP as well… one with a great sounding guitar that shows why it easily one over so many German fans.
That great sound continues on One Foot In The Grave while the fast-paced A Girl Called Cerveza is another great listen that makes this EP a must have. The EP then closes with a live version of ‘(Empty) Tankard’ which reminds all us older listeners just what it was like to have an old CD single full of rarities like this.
This is a stunning EP that every Tankard fan is going to want to have in their collection… even better if you have a love for soccer as well because these soccer anthems are going to be played in stadiums and drinking halls right around the world.
