Who said all the venues in Sydney were closing? Rejoice, because a new club will open on 9 October and will continue each month.
Deaf To All But Metal is a monthly live and DJ club playing some of the heaviest tunes.
According to the organisers, this club night was created by four friends who were sick of having nowhere in Sydney to go hang out and drink that also plays a diverse range of metal so they decided to make their own night. Three of these friends are the resident DJs who will be playing music from bands that hail from a wide range of heavy metal sub genres. They will be playing new (not nu) metal from near and afar as well as some old classics that don’t get paid their dues in any clubs in Sydney.
Not only will the DJs be playing heavy tracks but there will be other forms of entertainment and bands performing. For example, on the launch night, DTABM will be showcasing some real heavy metal burlesque dancers performing sexy routines to death, black and doom metal tunes. There will also be a performance by local Sydney band Fenrir whose songs cover topics such as Icelandic sagas and Norse mythology set to a thrashy metal soundtrack.
There are plenty of surprises to be announced such as guest DJs to mix things up a bit and playlists compiled by big name international metal stars especially for Deaf To All But Metal! Keep an eye out for these surprises and more that will be announced on www.facebook.com/deaftoallbm and for photos leading up to and from the event on Instagram @deaftoallbutmetal
