Here is an interesting fact, Zack de la Rocha was originally in a Hardcore band called Inside Out.
What does this have to do with Stray From The Path’s eighth album Subliminal Criminals? Good question. That irreplaceable band which spawned from the demise of Inside Out, Rage Against The Machine, created a sound that revolutionised the rap-metal world.
Now, imagine a band who combined what Inside Out subscribed to in a modernised version, add the abilities of Tom Morello on guitar transforming what hardcore music is capable of. Sounds impossible? It has happened and Stray From The Path are responsible.
This is brilliance. It’s as exciting as when RATM reconnected for Big Day Out in 2010. Before you become hesitant, this isn’t a carbon copy, it’s a nod of respect and excellently executed. Don’t believe me? Opening track The New Gods will have you like “Bulls On Parade” in seconds.
