Are you screaming for vengeance, in need of a painkiller? Well you’ve got another thing coming! Perhaps a trip to Gorky Park this Helloween will give you what you need. See what I did there? If you can’t, then a precision engineered German priest might just be what your record collection is missing.
In the modern era of democratised music the difference between big budget productions and bedroom recordings is difficult to spot. Human Beast really holds its own against any big budget belter. If you had to guess where the budget stood on this album you’d go for something skyward. Well written and produced songs with a mastering polish that doesn’t wring out that final decibel sacrificing dynamics as the instrumentation evolves. Banging choruses, catchy riffs and thunderous bass to carry you along. Your needs will be met.
All albums have their niche. Don’t take my word for anything! Chuck on Forever and hear for yourself. The second album from Sons of Eternity, following their debut End of Silence, deserves a place in any decent metal collection with songs that will stand up in any playlist.
For such a riff based album I’d like the guitars to be even more forward at times. That said, the bass is strong and the vocals deliver a smorgasbord of harmonic delights that earn their place in the mix. Credit where it’s due: produced by Jonas Roßner and mastered by Christoph Beyerlein, who’ve clearly understood the assignment.
In a world where anyone can put a record out, it still means something when one genuinely stands up. Human Beast stands up. If your metal collection has a gap shaped like a precision engineered German priest, consider it filled.
