SNIVELLING SWINEHEARDS Unleash Debut Single ‘Deathbubble Anyeurism’

Tāmaki Makaurau-based silly-bugger punk quartet Snivelling Swineheards let the pigs out of the pen with their debut single, the deliciously apocalyptic earworm tune Deathbubble Anyeurism.

The song’s roll-off-the-tongue title is a reference to the happy-go-lucky theory of the universes’ end via a bubble said to expand at the speed of light and consume the fabric of reality. Touching.

Closer to the realm of reality, the snide, sardonic lyrics deal with existential ennui and the cheerful, nihilistic time-fillers with which humans affix meaning and enjoyment in an attempt to alleviate the crushing notion of our own impermanence. Angular post-punk bass riffs anchor the lawless, devil-may-care overdriven guitar licks and slicing drum fills. There’s even a reference to iconic Auckland eatery Tart Bakery as one of the few escapes from the late stage capitalist hellscape of the modern era.
