Si-Fest is upon us!
This Saturday night, February 20, sees the Brisbane metal community unite to pay respects and raise money for Simon Russell-White, vocalist from local outfit Massic, who suffered a near-fatal heart complication late last year.
That Simon is still with us is a miracle in itself, but with life-saving open-heart surgery out of the way the real battle begins.
Adriatic, Diskust, Piston Fist, F.U.C and A Somerset Parade will be joined by Azreal and Elephant – two bands playing their comeback shows after a prolonged absence from the scene – in spearheading a benefit show the likes of which only heavy metal friends, fans and family can provide.
Organisers have assembled an array of prizes for two monster Goose Club-style raffles, with tickets to some of the hottest shows in town including Under The Southern Stars, The Screaming Jets (including meet and greet), Steel Panther and Sevendust, Mansfields of Rock 2, The AC/DC Story, The Big Day Bash (complete with two Counterfeit Australian Limp Bizkit Redcaps ), a Lumber Punks voucher, Esky with bottleshop voucher and a Black Rheno merch pack.
There will also be auctions throughout the night, with a signed Ugly Kid Joe 2017 tour drumskin on offer plus a special auction which will see Diskust drummer CJ Nash chop off one dreadlock for each $100 pledged.
A limited run of commemorative T-Shirts and long sleeve Si-Fest shirts will be sold on the night, with 100% of proceeds of Si-Fest going to Simon and his family to help offset the financial burdens associated with his life-changing brush with death.
Tickets are still available through Oztix for $30 plus BF, otherwise, they will be $40 on the door (subject to availability).
For those who can’t attend but still wish to donate organisers are suggesting you buy a ticket (s) and the money will go towards the overall total raised.
