I love bands that think and create outside the square and go beyond the accepted boundaries of what ‘metal’ is supposed to be. That is probably why I’m attracted to progressive rock and metal. Whilst this British six-piece are certainly not a ‘prog’ band, they thumb their nose at metal conventions anyway.

Firstly, their core sound is that of brutal, in your face extreme deathcore. So on the most part it’s a wild maelstrom of sledgehammer sound, with an ultra-modern vibe. However, the sound is dynamic at the same time, not just a relentless ear-bashing. They shake things up, and step outside the box, with the twin barrelled, male/female lead vocal trade-off of Joseph Sinclair’s screechy black metal influenced howls and Aimy Miller’s far more ear pleasing crooning. It’s a contrast that works an absolute treat.

On top of that, they inject the sound with much symphonic/orchestral flourish, which provides more very welcome variety, as well as added bombast to an already overwhelming sound.

If you dig bands like Motionless in White, our own Make Them Suffer and even Cradle of Filth, this band is for you.
