Oakland’s Shannon & The Clams, who return to Australia in July and will appear on the Love Police Stage at Splendour in the Grass, have announced support acts for their headline shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong,
Main support for the two Melbourne shows – the now-sold out show at Hotel Westwood, and the big Friday night at the Corner – are local garage-rock up and comers Bad Bangs, who recently released their debut album Character Building. Also on the bill for the Corner show are Hot Tubs Time Machine, whose members have played in the likes of Lower Plenty, Deaf Wish and The UV Race, as well as those divine glamourpusses Imperial Leather, whose front femme Annaliese Redlich – aka DJ Annaliese, presenter of RRR-FM’s much loved Neon Sunset show – will be spinning tunes between bands
The Wollongong show at La La La’s has two openers – local hypnotic psych-folk solo artist Luke Spook, and local double-drummer garage-psychers Drop Offs.
No local support for the Sydney show at Mary’s Underground – lucky folks in the Harbour City get the double US whammy of Shannon & The ClamsandJEFF The Brotherhood together on the same bill.
