REVOID Break New Sonic Ground With Debut EP

Share This:

Brisbane metal outfit Revoid are today releasing their debut EP Sleepless Still.

The EP comes on the back of successful singles Gloomsayer and Ghost and shows Revoid in a more experimental light, playing around with the barriers associated with metal and adding their own flair.

Band members Dale Dudeson (vocals), Nick Watson (drums) and Josh ‘Krusty’ Gudgeon (guitar) sat down with HEAVY to discuss the EP.

“I think variety was the name of the game with this one,” Dale started. “Coming out of the gate with Cut Me Down a couple of years ago, we wanted to show our versatility on this one a little bit and show that we can do a little bit of something for everyone before we get into what we wanna do as a band.”

“I think with this release in particular we’re still finding our feet a little bit and we were trying to bring in some different styles,” Krusty added. “It’s still under the metalcore tree, but just branching out a little bit with some lighter songs and some heavier songs, and some in between songs that have a bit of a balance. We just wanted to play around with the metalcore genre and see how far we could take it.”

In the full interview, the boys go into greater depth about Sleepless Still, writing during lockdown, expanding on their sound, how COVID affected Revoid, future gigs and more.
