ReVamp Recording Update

Floor Jansen

With Nightwish currently taking a short break from their ‘Imaginaerum’ World Tour, stand-in live vocalist Floor Jansen has returned to her own band ReVamp to complete the recording of their second album.

The singer checked in this week to announce that the final sessions involving choir recordings are now complete, and the mixing process has begun.

The as yet untitled album is due for release in September via Nuclear Blast, after being pushed back due to Jansen’s involvement with the Nightwish tour.  ReVamp have also confirmed an appearance at the Female Metal Voices Fest in Belgium in October as part of the planned promotion for the album.

ReVamp was formed in 2009  after the disbandment of Jansen’s previous band After Forever, and the self titled debut ReVamp album was released in mid-2010.  In October 2012 she was asked to fill in on short notice during the North American leg of the current Nightwish tour, after vocalist Anette Olzon abruptly parted ways with the band.

Despite speculation that she may join Nightwish on a permanent basis, the latest news from the ReVamp camp seems to suggest that ReVamp remains a commitment for Jansen, at least in the short term.
