Sydney progressive metalcore outfit Repriever return with their dark new single Fragile, out now and streaming everywhere.
Following January’s sophomore EP Fracture, the track sees the band push further into their sound, combining progressive metalcore with electronic elements, haunting melodies and nu-metal-inspired vocal passages. Opening with booming screams before giving way to eerie cleans, Fragile builds into an atmospheric, doom-laden, melodic chorus. The second verse takes a turn, introducing scream-rap passages that add another dimension to the band’s sound, introducing new tricks to Repriever’s arsenal.
A first for the band, Fragile was written, recorded, mixed and mastered entirely in-house. The song explores the stages of depression and the fight to pull yourself out of a dark place. Written from the perspective of vocalist Cameron Little, the track draws on his own experiences with depression and mental illness, confronting the struggle of working through difficult times and making it through to the other side.
