After a string of acclaimed singles and a growing reputation for cathartic, emotionally-driven indie rock, Red Temples return with their highly anticipated new EP World Askew, out July 4.
Building on the success of their recent releases: Water from the Stars (Top 5, Rock Category – WAM Song of the Year 2025) and Fall Back Plan (Top 20, Rock Category – WAM SOTY 2025), World Askew captures Red Temples at their most introspective and sonically expansive.
“’World Askew’ captures the emotional push and pull of modern life, where the pressure and complexity of the present collide with fleeting moments of clarity and joy. How life can feel overwhelming and isolating, yet unexpectedly beautiful in its quiet moments,” explains the band, continuing, “At the heart of the EP is a reflective gaze toward youth, a time when life felt simpler, slower, and more instinctively joyful. The songs speak to the contradictions of adulthood: chasing purpose whilst feeling lost, yearning for connection while drowning in noise, and learning to sit with uncertainty without losing hope.”
Red Temples will be launching World Askew with a show at The Bird, Northbridge, on July 5, with special guests Moth Street Artists and Twelve Parsecs. More information and tickets via Oztix.
