Pushing Forward With Inertia

Share This:

With the countdown on until the release of Inertia’s latest EP Memoria on March 18, the band are ramping things up a little with the release of the second EP single Arisaka, which follows on from Hivemind earlier last month.

Inertia have produced a collection of material on Memoria that showcases a different musical psyche for the band, with vocalist Julian Latouche and guitarist Mark Williamson joining HEAVY to chat about the new music.

Hivemind was the first song that we wrote off the EP,” Williamson began. “It was written amongst the pandemic when it first hit, and we were kind of at home wondering what to do. Live shows were gone, so we knew we had to switch it up a little bit and try and attack things in a different angle, so` we decided to experiment a little bit. We went a little bit harder on the synthesiser work, and we wanted to hone in on what Inertia sounded like and how far we can push the envelope while still having the Inertia name behind us. I think we’ve done a good job in introducing some new elements while keeping the same heavy musicality while rocking the R & B vocals.”

In the full interview, the boys talk more about Hivemind, run us through the songs on Memoria and their meaning, signing with Resist Records and what that means for the band, upcoming shows, and more.
