I’ll Be A Hero is the first single to be released from Punk Jimmy’s second EP, When I’m ME.
Independently produced and recorded at Studio G in Brooklyn with Nelson Espinal, I’ll Be A Hero is a freaky rock and roll record that explores America’s obsession with superheroes. Chopped up Stonesy riffs give way to a manic breakdown, all while a choir-like gang of vocalists holler in the background.
“I’m playing with the ridiculous wish fulfillment that we have when we go to see the next big superhero movie. Good and evil, black and white thinking, the possibility for violence to bring us salvation, and what those obsessions look like when actualized in real life.” The rest of the three-song EP will be released as singles, with the next track slated for an early October release.
