AC/DC guitarist Angus Young has joined his new bandmate Axl Rose on stage at Coachella (16 April 2016) to perform the AC/DC classics Riff Raff and Whole Lotta Rosie. You can see the slightly dodgy footage of both songs below. Young had been at Coachella the year previously, having headlined last year’s festival with AC/DC.
As was reported yesterday, Rose will be fronting AC/DC for 12 dates of their Rock or Bust World Tour next month, as well as another 10 postponed dates in the U.S. that have yet to be announced. Rose will then rejoin Guns N’ Roses for the Not In This Lifetime Tour.
Coachella is the biggest show since the triumphant return of Guns N’ Roses, with up to 100,000 fans in attendance. As you can see from the footage, Rose is still incapacitated with his broken foot and continues to use Dave Grohl’s custom throne.
The performance lasted just under two and a half hours and they played songs from every era, which should encourage everyone to get down to Mexico to see their two shows this week before they finish up at Coachella next weekend. A full North American tour announcement is expected soon.
Guns N’ Roses are reportedly earning $8 Million a show at Coachella.
