Verona on Venus announces the release of Monarch Acid Test the second single track from the band’s full-length debut album, Popular Delusions, releasing on January 19, 2024. The single is available across all major music streaming platforms and available to purchase and download on Apple Music and Amazon Music. Monarch Acid Test is the follow-up to Verona on Venus’ debut single Rodent released on December 1, 2023.
“This song is one of the heavier tracks on the album”, says Mike Spreitzer. “My inspiration stemmed from Project Monarch which was an experiment within the infamous MK-Ultra program in the 1960s. I’ve always been fascinated with this part of history. Project Monarch was an experiment within MK-Ultra and had to do with different levels of programming people, brainwashing, and psychological torture. I believe we all live within our own heads and thoughts to a certain level, and the theory of mind control by way of sinister conduct by a person or organization can be taken from the song’s lyrics.”
