Premiere: UNDERSTORY “Windbreaker” EP

Share This:

Brisbane rockers Understory have just dropped their new EP titled “Windbreaker” and you can hear it here first!

Track 1: “Paradigm”
You have the power to make a change in your own life and take control of your situation – and be your own person without letting external influence change who you are.

Track 2: “Enigma”
“Enigma” is about how we take for granted all the choices we’ve made as a first world country, choosing to ignore a more righteous path for benefits in wealth and greed, for a select few. It’s also a positive outlook on what could be/what could have been and offers an idea to the possibilities of change.

Track 3: “Static World”
“Static World” is about not letting others oppress you. Showing them you know exactly who they are, you’re better, and you’re sick of being tread on for their social benefit

Track 4: Windbreaker
“Windbreaker” focuses on a soul seeking guidance while having to navigate through a world where status often dictates our decisions or influences our thinking. For example, we’re so consumed by social media and we find ourselves constantly comparing ourselves to others. Windbreaker aims to challenge that and recognises that these are unnecessary pressures that we put on ourselves.

Sungiant:
It’s a call out to those around us who are struggling with depression/anxiety letting them know they aren’t alone in their personal battles.
(Caiden) for me, in particular, the music component was written during an extremely difficult time – watching a loved one go through some very harsh trials and losing themselves in the process. It was very difficult to watch and so the music for me represents a feeling of hopelessness that I felt during this time. When the musical component was written, we decided the lyrical themes needed to surround the topic of depression and mental health.
