Recently cited as a local emerging act to watch by Gold Coast’s Blank Magazine, The Silencio have won the opening slot at The World Is A Vampire Festival with The Smashing Pumpkins, Jane’s Addiction and more at Broadwater Parklands on April 30. To celebrate, The Silencio will be dropping their next single Taciturn (Over) Talkative on Friday 28 April.
The Silencio are consummate professionals with a live show that is stadium-ready, who took out top honours in Rebel FM’s Band Battle which had over 700 entries for the chance to open the World Is A Vampire festival, selected by a panel of music industry judges including tour promoters One World Entertainment, Heavy Magazine and the Rebel FM rock radio network.
Taciturn (Over) Talkative was recorded at Core Studios on the Gold Coast, Australia; engineered by Nik Carpenter, lifted from their forthcoming sophomore album. The video was produced/edited by long-time collaborator David Owen Blackley of Her Name Is Murder Productions (Sepultura, The Amity Affliction, The Cranberries, Pete Murray).
The video for Taciturn (Over) Talkative is special for the band members as they recruited their own fathers to portray themselves in the video. JNB’s son, Jack even makes an appearance. This concept was planned out quite a while back to celebrate that both JNB and Dylan’s dads who were musicians themselves back in their day and helped to ignite that spark in their sons. Jared and Kurt’s dads were good sports in playing along despite never having touched an instrument in their lives which made for an extremely fun day.
