Melbourne rock machines Shake The Temple recently released their impressive self-titled debut album to an overwhelmingly positive response, with their blending of old school rock sensibilities dripping with a late 1970s and 80s vibe and modern hard rock striking a chord the world over.
Featuring music that transcends over 40 years of rock music, the album has already spurned the hit single Huntsman, which is today followed up by the equally impressive The Devil’s Approach.
The Devil’s Approach is led by a quick movie monologue before crushing to life with more up-tempo music that almost has its roots in thrash. Frontman John Joseph’s old school hard rock vocals quickly take centre stage, proving he is equally at home with soaring high notes as he is with a controlled rock sensibility, while the guitars come into their own on this track, ferociously shredding and masterfully pulling the track into edgier territory.
While The Devil’s Approach may not paint a complete overall picture of the musical diversity inherent in Shake The Temple, it is a damn good place to start!
