Premiere: REMISSION ‘Hellfire’

Share This:

Raging from the most isolated capital city in the world, Perth in Western Australia, death thrashers REMISSION bring an immense savagery of riffing and caustic fury on new single and video Hellfire.

With the thrash precision of acts such as SYLOSIS and REVOCATION, the band are intent on defying their isolation through this introduction to the brilliance of the band’s forthcoming sophomore album.

Hellfire was recorded, mixed and mastered by Cody Brooks and Ethan Macpherson with the video shot and edited by Darkspirit Photography. Expect further details on the band’s sophomore album shortly.

Commenting on the song, lead singer and guitarist Jacson Robb states: “Hellfire was written as the stand-out ‘assault’ song on the album. Something short, fast and violent that stood out against some of our longer, more melodic tunes. It slightly nods to our roots in thrash whilst using death metal overtones to bring about an effective audio pummelling.”

Hellfire also delivers not only a crushing thrash attack but lyrically a powerful political and religious critique, targeting the ties between leaders of faith and politics.

Robb further adds: “Once we had finished putting together the music for this song, I wanted to have lyrics that hit as furiously as the music. Given our political climate in Australia at the time, and the religious influence and subsequent ties of our leaders, I had a target that was quite easy to get very angry about.”

REMISSION will be heading over to Adelaide on August 13 (Adelaide Uni Bar) and August 14 in Sydney (Frankie’s Pizza) to perform alongside the devastating shred of ZEOLITE and FREEDOM OF FEAR, with each show delivering an onslaught of some of Australia’s finest contemporary talents. Rip the song hard and get along to one of the above shows for a lesson in death thrash brutality!
