Looking for excitement on this sunny September 1st? We’ve got you covered with an exclusive premiere of the new music video from Melbourne metallers Colossvs. Their fresh track In The Absinthe of God was premiered earlier this week on triple j’s The Racket, and we’ve got you sorted with its frothy new video. The band have described it as a way to ‘reintroduce’ the ‘new lineup’ and ‘take things up a notch creatively’. The single release follows on from the departure of former vocalist Lochlan Watt back in May after he stepped in on vocal duties for Thy Art Is Murder, seeing the return of original frontman Christopher Tew.

The video is the final product after Colossvs “filmed a lot of performance stuff in ways we’ve never done before, shot a bunch of footage on analog tape formats and found some pretty strange places to shoot like this insane pit of animal bones just outside of Melbourne that our bass player knew about. We still don’t know why he knew where that was.” On the actual tune, guitarist Michael Calle noted that it’s been “a staple in our live set for almost a year now and has gone through so many different versions over time”. “‘Absinthe’ is about looking inward at the darkness that consumes you from within.”

In addition to the new clip, we’re proud to announce that Colossvs will embark on a run of dates this month to tour the single. They’ll hit Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart and Melbourne, so get keen to hit up your local venue for a show.

COLOSSVS AUSTRALIAN TOUR DATES

September 22: Hot Damn, Sydney
