Premiere: FRANKENBOK “Rolling Dice On Dirty Streets”

Rolling Dice On Dirty Streets is the lead track from Victorian metal legends Frankenbok’s daring new album Overdose.

It is the first song on the album and musically it’s a short, sharp and to the point slab of punk metal fury, packing a serious punch with maximum unrelenting energy.

Lyrically it sets a rather dark tone which carries across the majority of the album, which for the most part deals with the destructive forces of power, corruption and addiction. The song kicks things off with a window into the chaotic thoughts of the chronically addicted mind; one who cannot see the road to redemption, only the well worn path of self destruction.

Overdose was recorded, mixed and mastered by the one and only Luke Walton at Dangertone Studios in Melbourne over three days in June of last year. The pre-production phase was extensive, with many iterations of the album recorded at Frankenbok’s rehearsal space before they went into the studio. The end result of this process is the most honest and genuine sounding album Frankenbok have ever done.

The primary objective was for it to be a true reflection of how they sound, how they play, and to be as live as possible. It also needed to be viscerally raw, yet sonically devastating. Luke did an absolutely amazing job of capturing exactly what the band were after, and they couldn’t be happier with the final product.
