Not content to follow expectations and musical trends, Melbourne metal outfit Firing Squad have come out with both barrels blazing with the release of songs on the same day!
Death By Firing Squad and Killing Spree form a lethal twin assault of hard rock and metal.
Killing Spree starts with a 911 call, setting the tone for a menacing track that addresses the spate of gun related killings in America. It is an urgent, frenetic and unrelenting track of pure aggression, showcasing the heavier side of Firing Squad.
Death By Firing Squad is the shorter of the two, coming in right on the two-minute mark, but is a song that doesn’t need much time to get to the heart of the matter.
Laced with hardcore punk leanings, Death By Firing Squad looks at death through the eyes of a POW as he suffers the cruelties and inhumanities of war before his inevitable final stand before the firing squad.
Individually, both tracks are brutally fantastic, but together paint a sonic picture of what to expect from Firing Squad.
Full blown aggression.
