Crawling from the shadows into all new sonic horizons, Brisbane’s favourite quartet of doom riffers Dark Moon Society are crashing into 2023 with their highly anticipated sophomore single The Reaper, out on all streaming platforms on Friday, February 10.
The Australian conjurers of hard rock sorcery have taken a left turn from the punk influences of their gritty debut single, Night Demon, to sonically broaden their already dynamic set list. New single The Reaper bursts forth with punchy grooves, grounded by the hard-hitting rhythm section and soaring to new heights with powerful lead guitar melodies. Lyrically allusive, it explores the wicked figure that lurks in shadows deep: a hooded figure dark and grim, with eyes that sear like fiery pits. Sought to harness its powers for greater purposes, transcending the boundaries of life and death to become a true master of the occult. Uncertainty pervades except for the inevitability of death – embrace this and truly live.
“The initial writing stages came to us naturally,” the band said. “After ongoing development, it was what each of us brought to the table individually that delivered our collective lightbulb moment and led us towards our new era. It is drenched with groove, dynamically charged, and packed with the colossal power that howls from our instruments.
