PISTON FIST Set To Dominate FNQ

Share This:

Brisbane hard rock outfit Piston Fist are preparing for a northern assault this weekend with buddies Diskust, in a whirlwind tour that sees both bands play Townsville and Cairns in one weekend.

Vocalist/guitarist Geoff O’Leary sat down with HEAVY during the week to discuss the tour and more.

“We are frothing, we are absolutely frothing,” he enthused. “We’ve been lucky enough to play a bunch of good shows in Brisbane during the whole lockdown period and all that sort of stuff through the COVID bullshit. It’s been pretty weird playing to people sitting down (laughs). We did play a really cool show there at the Woolly Mammoth which was the last show we played where there was standing allowed and a bit of moshing going on and it was super exciting. If anything we probably played a little faster than normal and probably made a few more mistakes than normal because we just got that excited that people were up. I’ve never been further than Mackay so it will be cool to get up there and playing some shows. Not that I’m not looking forward to Townsville but AJ Hackett in Cairns sounds like a bunch of fun.”

In the full interview Geoff goes into more detail about the tour, new music from Piston Fist and what direction it will take, playing in the bathroom for Blokesworld, building a fan base, how they got named ‘petrol rock’ and plenty more.
