PIPE BOMB Drop New Track ‘Suicide Pact’

Share This:

Pipe Bomb is the solo project of Church Girls‘ guitarist Mitchell Layton, featuring blistering vocals, pummeling breakdowns, and dissonant guitars that conjure the ghosts of early 00s metal-core bands like The Bled, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and The Chariot. Its debut single, False God, hit the ground running and gained Pipe Bomb exposure on platforms like the Kingdom Core Podcast and NewReleaseToday‘s Apple Music playlist, “New Christian Metal.”

With Suicide Pact, Pipe Bomb’s follow-up single, the band takes aim at parts of the music scene and the world at large that would rather eat their own than be associated with anyone who would tarnish their reputation. Rather than harping on “cancel culture,” the lyrics point out the blood lust behind our attempts to blot out others and our society’s obsession with moral superiority.

Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about the potential for being cancelled in today’s culture. As a Christian, it’s often on my mind,” says vocalist Mitchell Layton. “In Christ, we believe many things that the world does not want to hear, let alone agree with. Whether it’s a moral, political, or personal differences, we seem to be on increasingly unstable ground with the world around us.”
