Formed in 2003 on the grim coastline of New South Wales, Pestilential Shadows have become one of Australia’s most uncompromising black metal acts. Their singular catalogue of eight full-length albums traces a bleak, relentless progression: Embrace After Death (2003), Cursed (2006), In Memoriam, Ill Omen (2009), Depths (2011), Ephemeral (2014), Revenant (2021), Devil’s Hammer (2024) and Wretch (2025). Each release deepens their commitment to oppressive textures and narrative darkness, balancing blistering aggression with passages of corrosive melody and ritual stillness.
To celebrate their latest album Wretch, Pestilential Shadows have three more shows left before winding up the album launch tour this weekend, hitting Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane over consecutive days.
Thursday, October 23rd – The Tote Melbourne (with Midnight Odyssey and Thrall)
Friday, October 24th – Ed Castle Adelaide (with Midnight Odyssey and Lumen Ad Mortem)
Saturday, October 25th – The Backroom Brisbane (with Midnight Odyssey, Impetuous Ritual and Graveir)
