Andorran extreme prog metal unit PERSEFONE is starting off strong in 2024. Today, their captivating, hard-hitting new single, The Equable, has been released alongside an immersive official music video, which is a video art created by Gràfica de Ferro, a design and art company of guitar player Filip and his partner. This comes just before the band sets off on their very first European headline tour, beginning in Henglo on February 10, 2024, and the release of their brand new EP, Lingua Ignota: Part I, which is out now.
The EP kicks off a new era for PERSEFONE, as Lingua Ignota: Part I is the first release with the band’s new vocalist, Daniel Rodríguez Flys, who had already joined the band on several tours in the past.
Furthermore, the band recently announced another huge career highlight: an exclusive orchestra show in their home base of Andorra on May 4, 2024, which will be recorded and is already sold out based on high demand.
Acclaimed in the global metal scene, PERSEFONE has previously taken over live stages at festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Brutal Assault and 70,000 Tons of Metal, and has toured with many acknowledged artists, such as Obscura and Ne Obliviscaris on their 2023 European tour. They also toured South America as headliners, and their European headline tour is set for February 2024. Beyond this, with their stunning 2022 record, metanoia, the band even graced the cover of Metal Hammer Magazine (ES). Stay tuned while PERSEFONE continues their success story!
Guitarist Carlos Lozano comments: “Writing music for Lingua Ignota Pt. I has been a journey by itself. We ask ourselves all the time how to explore different ways to make our sound fresh, how to avoid old patterns and mannerisms, and often, this leads to endless layers of rhythmic and harmonic complexity added to the songs. By the time we had to approach ‘The Equable’, we noticed that the bravery wasn’t about going crazy with our own skills, since we’ve already done that in the past… but it was about stripping the song of all that made us comfortable.
‘The Equable’ is as honest and simple as we have been able to do it. By the time the song was ready, we were both in love and scared about it, and we think that this is the right way to feel in order to reach new places. We hope you find joy in these notes.”
