Parhelion is a 5-piece band born out of the Bungawalbin swamp of the NSW Northern Rivers, latching onto a member from Brisbane who came together to create a somewhat unique brand of hard rock twisted with progressive, metal, grunge and contemporary elements. The band is rapidly drawing attention due to their own blend of heavy percussive tones, hypnotic riffs, and vocal extremes.
Influences are too vast to name them all, but think along the lines of AIC, Tool, Mastodon, Deftones, Parkway Drive, The Butterfly Effect, and Karnivool and you will get a good feel for their sound. Parhelion‘s debut EP Undaunted, which was mixed, recorded and produced with Lucius Borich from Keysound Studios in Byron Bay, has now been released.
