OSluggard are a two-piece sludgy power-doom outfit from Sydney.
They have just released their first full-length LP, COLD… DEAD… DARK… and with that comes a promo video of the first song from the album, Witching Hour. Shot where the guys rehearse in Brookvale by the brothers Mattes, Witching Hour took a day and a half with a legion of doomsters to put it all together.
The song itself is a crushing caveman jam about the madness of life and the mental anguish it brings upon oneself. From its onset, the fuzz laden bass and thundering drums hold you dangling till the guitar kicks in and then drops you into a thick pit of tar to struggle out from for the rest of the song. This is sure to excite any fans of Conan, Monolord and the like.
These guys aren’t afraid to show their influences on their new album either, taking their main chunk of inspiration from the mighty Crowbar with some lasting doses of Boltthrower and Entombed to boot. Check out Witching Hour below.
