Share This:

“Shades of Grey” is the latesty offering from Far North Queensland metal outfit Only Ghosts Remain.

After the overwhelming success of their previous three singles, the band has decided to ramp things up for “Shades of Grey” with their first-ever film clip which should shed greater light on the music and talents of Only Ghosts Remain.

Vocalist Lauren Sandstrom sat down with HEAVY recently to discuss the single.

“Shades of Grey is about the world, life, how nothing is ever black and white,” she explained, “no matter how much we would like to think it is. The biggest goal with this one was to do our first film clip, which we’ve definitely achieved and that’s now out there in the world and thank God it’s over (laughs). It was an amazing experience but hard work. The sheer hours… we had to record the song and perform it 272 times over three days so that was intense but amazing. We got to work with some awesome creative [people who made it look incredible.”

In the full interview, Lauren discusses “Shades of Grey” in greater detail, the bands approach to writing and future music plans, creating your own sound within a musical genre that is becoming increasingly more difficult, the line between imitation and inspiration, surviving COVID as a new band and more.
