South African alt-rock band OnDisplay has released the music video for their latest single, Loophole — a visually striking and emotionally charged piece that dives deep into themes of identity, social pressure, and self-deception.
Blending theatrical imagery with a powerful narrative, Loophole explores the “masks” we wear to navigate societal expectations. With its haunting aesthetic and layered symbolism, the video blurs the lines between dream and reality, authenticity and illusion, echoing a growing modern dilemma: how easily we can lose ourselves trying to fit in and live up to external ideals.
“We all get drunk on society sometimes,” says drummer Greg Groothedde. “We chase what’s trending, what’s ‘acceptable,’ what people expect of us — and we lose sight of what really matters. Sometimes, we have to step back and ask: are we doing this for our own happiness, or just to please others?”
