On The Road With AFFINITY MINUS PERFECTION

Listen to the interview here. You can also find it on Spotify and iTunes Podcast.:

HEAVY Mag were proud supporters of Rockhampton band Affinity Minus Perfection when they released their EP late last year. Now that excitement level has risen to a whole new level as the band prepare to hit the road for their east coast tour.

“2015 was when we decided to make this album,” says Hayden the band’s vocalist. “Before that we were kind of just four or five drunk guys messing around. We just played wherever we liked and then in 2015 I moved to Rocky and we decided it was time to be a little more serious. We started to write actual songs and then got ready for shows and stuff and then after a year or a year and half we were going alright and then we lost one of our founding members and our bass player so we had to go out and find a couple of new members… but right now I think we have found our place together.”

“I’m absolutely ecstatic there has been so much hard work behind the scenes,” says Hayden when I ask how excited the band are to head out onto the road and show their fans their new material. “We’ve put money into the EP and put money into promoting so we decided that well lets push the touring stuff and do it ourselves so we’ve worked really hard for a few months now trying to organise venues and bands and we’ve had issues with bands pulling out after they said they were locked in, then you have to find bands to replace them so that has been a bit stressful… but it will be just good to get out there and seeing the hard work pay off and getting some new fans along the way. But our main focus is to get out there and have fun while playing the songs that we enjoy.”
