Finnish modern metal band Ode Of Disgrace has spent over a decade creating new music, and now they are set to release an entire EP’s worth of material. The title track of the upcoming EP, Under Grey Skies, which will be released in 2025, marks a radical departure both in tempo and theme from the band’s earlier 2025 release, Bloodlust.
The composition and lyrics for the song were inspired by the cyclical renewal found both in nature and humanity, as well as the feeling that arises in the presence of nature about what is truly meaningful in life. These themes are explored further in the music video for the track. The song is one of the band’s slowest pieces, and its dragging tempo highlights the band’s heaviness from a completely different angle.
Under Grey Skies is the second single to be released from the band’s upcoming EP, which will be released in full later in 2025. The EP was composed between 2022 and 2024, and recorded in the autumn of 2024 at Shedstudios.
