OCEAN GROVE Announce BORED OF THE CITY Australian Tour

The lights are equally bright away from the city, and Melbourne Oddworld heroes Ocean Grove are set to bring their luminous live show on an 11-date regional East Coast tour this April.

Kicking off their BORED OF THE CITY East Coast tour in Newcastle on Wednesday 12 April, the OG trio will then head to Penrith, Wollongong, Canberra, Albury, Bendigo, Geelong, Belgrave, Frankston and the Gold Coast, before closing out Friday 28 April on the Sunshine Coast. Also joining the fun will be Melbourne punk lords Deez Nuts and Sydney emo rockers Bloom.

Armed with their latest full-length album, 2022’s Up In The Air Forever, Ocean Grove have been recently tearing up stages and airwaves with more ferocity than ever before. Fusing 90s alternative rock with grunge, punk, Brit Pop and sprinklings of hook-ready pop, Up In The Air Forever firmly showcased the diversity and rattling technicality underpinning the Ocean Grove sonic world, while also nodding at times to their much heavier roots. In 2022 alone, the trio performed at Unify Forever, Monolith Festival and Good Things Festival, with headline appearances and a special Christmas show also solidifying a mammoth 12 months in OG land. And while Aussie fans may have to wait until April to catch Ocean Grove back in action on stages in 2023, the group are set to join beloved Brit rockers Don Broco and American post-hardcore icons Sleeping With Sirens on the road in Europe this March.

“We cut our teeth on regional tours around Australia back when OG was starting out,” shares Ocean Grove vocalist Dale Tanner. “Hopping in a van (or in our case – my ute) and taking to the highways led us to some of the most outrageous and memorable times of our career and lives. It’s been well over six years since putting together a regional headline tour of our own and we are so psyched to finally return to so many great parts of the country and revive this energy that defined the early years of the band. There’s nothing quite like performing in far-flung places away from the major cities – the rarity of the occasion creates something pretty special. No-one in the room takes the moment for granted, including the band, and you feel proud to be part of something bigger, a community that just needed its chance to shine. They’ve been asking for it, so here we f**king go!”
