Sydney heavy music legends Nunchukka Superfly have today released their seventh album If You Go Down I Go Down Too. It is the first album in 4 years from the band, and the first to include their latest (and fourth) drummer, John Banicevic.
The release of the new Nunchukka Superfly album follows Ray and Blackie’s recently completed 13-date US tour with their other band the Hard-Ons, which featured Jerry A from Poison Idea as guest lead vocalist, and which had the band on a triple bill with The Melvins and Napalm Death. That tour coincided with the release of a Hard-ons with Jerry A single You Won’t Shut Up/Dead End Turnaround, which will be followed by an album sometime soon.
Nunchukka Superfly will launch If You Go Down I Go Down Too in Melbourne at the Northcote Social Club on Wednesday, August 27. The show is part of the both the venue’s 20th Anniversary celebration and a Cheersquad Records & Tapes Residency. Guests on the night are the band’s labelmates The Meanies + Super American Eagle.
Additionally, they will launch the album in Brisbane at Crowbar on Friday, August 15, and in Sydney at the Marrickville Bowling Club on Saturday, August 30.
