No Rest for the Wicked with KING PARROT

Share This:

“It’s amazing how many times we’ve been over there now”, expressed King Parrot‘s bass player and all-round larrikin Slatts, talking about their recently completed tour of the U.S supporting Phil Anselmo and the Illegals. “It’s ten tours we’ve done now and it’s always nice to see the recognition more and more the more we go. We got to share a bus with Phil and the band and they’re our mates so it was good fun”.

So surely there must be some tales of sin and debauchery to be told.

“The sad part about it is we’re just old fucks”, Slatts laughed, “it’s not like we’re twenty-one anymore. I’m always happy being in my pajamas after the show and getting to bed. I’m just stoked when I don’t get busted having a wank in the bus…(laughs)”.

In a typically humorous and entertaining interview Slatts discusses life on the road and the tolls a tour like that takes on a person, what they got up to on their rare days off, how their friendship and working relationship developed with Phil Anselmo, their ARIA nomination and what it means to the band as well as why he thinks this will be their year, their upcoming performance at this weekends Halloween Hysteria plus details on their last two shows for the year thus far, the bands work ethic and we also get the lowdown on his new alter ego Grant.
