Nine Inch Nails Album Completed

Share This:

Trent Reznor has been secretly working on another album with a newly reformed Nine Inch Nails, revealing that the new album is ready and NIN have signed with Columbia Records to release it later this year.

Spurred on by his award-winning work with collaborator Atticus Ross, the pair won an Academy Award for their music on The Social Network and a Grammy Award for their score on The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Finally speaking about his upcoming plans, Reznor stated “I’ve been less than honest about what I’ve really been up to lately.”

“For the last year I’ve been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly, f**king great.”

Famously working as an independent artist since ending his contractual obligations with Interscope Records in 2007, he went on to release music for free via his websites. Reznor’s particular disdain was with the handling of album prices, especially in Australia, and he was quite vocal about encouraging fans to steal his music in a stance against Interscope parent company Universal Music Group.

In 2010, however, his attitude changed when he realised the importance of needing a label’s marketing skills, and went onto release his side project How To Destroy Angels 2012 EP  An omen EP  through Columbia Records. The band is a collaborative effort  with his wife Mariqueen Maandig, Atticus Ross and Rob Sheridan.

Their pending full length album will also be released by the label.
