The loudest new voices in Australian heavy music will be screaming the roof off Sydney’s legendary Lansdowne Hotel on Friday, June 20 for a very special one-of-a-kind industry showcase, spotlighting gender-diverse rising stars in the scene.
nEX GEn is a fierce and unmissable celebration of femme and GNC artists in heavy music, curated by RedHook frontwoman Emmy Mack and proudly presented by UsFest and One Of One, running as part of the Lansdowne’s massive 100th birthday bash.
With free entry for industry (RSVP essential) and an affordable ticket price of just $14 for punters, attendees will gain access to an exclusive evening of loud, (glass) ceiling-smashing chaos—kicking off with a panel chat and audience Q&A featuring Emmy, Monica Strut of The Last Martyr and more as they share stories, tackle the big issues and maybe even give the crowd a screaming lesson. Then it’s straight into a stacked showcase of high-octane live sets from some of the country’s fiercest rising scream queens.
Making their Sydney live debut, Naarm’s Nightlight will unleash their genre-blurring blend of pop and metal, followed by a crushing set from Newcastle’s swaggering heavy-hitters Vilify, before Melbourne nu-metalcore rising stars The Last Martyr round things out with a show-stopping headline performance.
Adding to the vibes, Last Words DJs BBYGRL and litmilz will also be on the decks, spinning emo metal party tracks throughout the night.
