Sienna Skies’ brand new LP A Darker Shade of Truth will be released tomorrow via Invogue Records, with the second cut from the record Where Mountain Meets Man premiered online.
A Darker Shade of Truth is the first album with vocalist Thomas Pirozzi and captures the band’s infectious energy. “The lyrics for Where Mountain Meets Man were a composite of a couple of significant times in the past two years for me”, reveals Pirozzi. “I lived in a Canadian Mountain town just outside of Vancouver, and the phrase ‘where mountain meets man’ was often thrown around. Seeing a major metropolitan area so close to such a rugged mountain range is truly something else. After returning home to Sydney I noticed a sudden unexpected urban sprawl. The idea of industry suddenly taking over the rolling hills of Western Sydney that I grew up with breaks my heart.”
Taking two years to sculpt, the song has slowly become one of Pirozzi’s favourites on the new album. A Darker Shade of Truth was recorded at Electric Sun studios in Sydney’s West, the second time they have worked there. It was produced and tracked with Dave Petrovic (Tonight Alive, Hands Like Houses, Kerser, Thy Art is Murder) and Stevie Knight (With Confidence, Little Sea, Short Stack).
The quintet have seen the world on the back of tours with Silverstein, Thy Art Is Murder, Story Of The Year, Like Moths to Flames, Hawthorne Heights and are determined to share their powerful positive message to the world through both their live show as well as the music they have poured their heart and soul into for years.
