[NEWS] Australian Metal Historian Releases Novel ‘AFTERMATH’

Share This:

Brian Giffin, the editor and compiler of the mammoth music tome The Encyclopaedia of Australian Heavy Metal has branched into fiction with his first novel Aftermath.

Aftermath is a post-apocalyptic action adventure inspired by Giffin’s lifelong love of metal music and fascination with end-of-the-world scenarios.

The Novel:

An alien virus wipes out 80% of the human population almost overnight, leaving those who survive to struggle with the instant crash of civilization.

As Sydney descends into fire and chaos, two disparate individuals find each other in the ruins. Tahnee Goss, a 16 year old private school girl from the Lower North Shore and outlaw biker Talon Willis form an unlikely and tenuous alliance as they head for the perceived safety of the Blue Mountains, only to find further violence and lawlessness as groups of survivors stake their claims to what remains of society.

The Author:

Brian Giffin is a Blue Mountains-based writer who has spent the last 25 years chronicling music for a range of publications including On The Street, Loudmouth, Hysteria, In Your Face and Rebel Razor magazines.

He has also maintained the music website Loud Online since the mid-1990s and in 2015 published The Encyclopaedia of Australian Heavy Metal which was described by metal-rules.com as “the first and best, most authoritative source on Australian metal”

Both Aftermath and The Encyclopaedia of Australian Heavy Metal are available from Brian’s online store:
