Rising through DIY indie, punk and hardcore circles over the past five years, Oslow have become a valued contributor to the local music community with their meticulous dedication to their art and equally energetic and captivating live performances. An enthralling debut album, Oslow encompasses the band’s signature indie-punk style laced with ‘00s pop-punk tendencies in the same vein as legendary bands such as Brand New and Title Fight. Teaming up with Australian producer/engineer Dylan Adams (DMA’s, James Blake), Oslow have crafted 11-tracks built upon anthemic choruses, epic, fuzzy riffs and dreamy counter-melodies to convey the experiences of young people at this juncture of history through earnest and heartfelt lyrics.
Since releasing their atmospheric new single ‘Cold Dark Space’ three weeks ago, the track has been spun on triple j, FBi Radio, 4ZZZ and SYN FM, plus an addition to the revered rage video playlist. The band have drawn praise from The Music as “one well-accomplished group of young musicians,” and were spotlighted in their roundup of Australian Acts Worth Keeping Your Eyes On in 2017 where their brilliant live shows were commended.
Since their formation five years ago, Oslow – Dylan Farrugia (vocals, bass), Jacob Rossi (guitar, vocals),Sean Hampstead (guitar, vocals) and Alex Ashtiani (drums) – have captivated audiences and critics alike with their alternative post-punk sound, sharing stages in Australia with highly respected indie, punk and hardcore heavyweights Title Fight, PUP, La Dispute and Balance & Composure to name a few. Since debuting theField EP in 2012, the band has gone from strength to strength, having released the now-sold-out Days Are So Bright Now EP (2014) and the double A-side No Longer Concerns Me 7” (2015), which was re-pressed in 2016.
