Myridian are a five-piece blackened melodic death metal band from Melbourne, Australia. Formed in 2009, they have written, recorded and released three full-length records as well as a live DVD, showcasing soaring melodies and haunting passages.
Their third full-length album, Light in the Abyss, comes from a period of collaborative songwriting which has resulted in their most ambitious and cohesive record to date, with “One With the Abyss” the second single lifted from the album.
The song about losing faith in life, and embracing the end. For this track, the band wanted to try some different ideas and create something heavier and more aggressive to sit alongside their more typical style. The final result is a song that goes on a journey through dark, melodic, and contrasting sections.
