The story of Animalhead is about as classic as you can get. Three friends who love to make music coming together almost accidentally to create something special.

Featuring Danny on drums and vocals, Cam on guitar and lead vocals, as well as Josh on bass and backing vocals, Animalhead’s up-tempo and enthralling energy is undeniable.

After winning the 2017 Ding Dong Lounge Battle of the Bands the group released their debut single ‘The Devil Told Me So’. Following the release, the band has gone on to perform nation-wide alongside headline acts such as Skinny Hobos, Alien Weaponry, Head Like A Hole, Tiki Taane, Curlys Jewels and Coridian. With upcoming gigs booked up and down the country, the group is looking to leave their distinctive mark on New Zealand’s rock scene.

“It all started in the summer of 2015, after finding ourselves band-less and itching for a tasty jam we headed to the local pub to come up with some ideas. After a few months of drinking and jamming in Dan’s basement we had a solid 6 song set, next was finding a decent local singer to fit the sound. With no luck and our first line of gigs steadily approaching, we bit the bullet, and decided to sing ourselves. After creating our own unique wall of sound, we haven’t looked back.”
