Aussie Black-Grinding-Death metal band MUNT have released a new single, THE CURSE OF FRAILTY, the first of two conceptually-intertwined tracks releasing in 2024. It is a seething and churning lean towards blackened death metal, driven by pounding D-beats and harrowing melodies that evoke sickly and despairing feelings.
The themes of this song are a candid contemplation of a very human despair related to entropies ensured embrace on the body. It is a meditation on not only impending death, but impermanence with our gradual loss of strength, will, wits and ability as we wither away.
This is a burden that afflicts every human being differently and at different times, but we are all equal in the universal truth that all flesh will grow weak, and in time expire, and that we must grapple with the mortal coil.
